Saturday morning, November 4, 2017 Wolf Group gathered a team together to set out to join our neighbor Matthew 25 Ministries for their 12th annual Hunger 5K. Matthew 25 is a non-profit organization that provides humanitarian aid and disaster relief globally. Most recently, they were involved in administering relief in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico due to the devastating aftermath of hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. Disasters like we’ve seen recently never stop the organization’s day-to-day distribution of food and other necessary supplies to residents in the greater-Cincinnati area.
Regardless of anyone’s personal fitness levels, everyone was welcomed to join in this fight against hunger this past Saturday. From people who clearly run every day to an elderly woman who walked the course with her walker, thousands of people banded together to make a difference in the lives of people in our community. The team made it a family affair with employees bringing kids of all ages! While a majority of the group did not compete for any awards, it was a beautiful morning of team bonding and a reminder that we can be involved in making our community a better place. Oh, and can’t forget the chocolate fountain (if that’s not incentive to get involved next year I don’t know what is); we loved the chocolate fountain!
Our team at Wolf Group was proud to support our neighbors and the community of Cincinnati by joining together to fight hunger. Cincinnati is ranked 10th worst in regards to child poverty, and 1 in 6 families in Ohio struggle with hunger. Being fed should not be a privilege, but a right to every person. Matthew 25 Ministries is fighting this war everyday, but with the help and backing of the community we can erase the plight of hunger in Cincinnati.
